Welcome to
WYOMING SPORTSMEN FOR FISH & WILDLIFE!
We are happy to report that Wyoming Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife continues to be the largest and fastest growing sportsmen's organization across the state of Wyoming. Wyoming SFW is continually on the go and stays active on a multitude of varied fronts. Among our many dedicated citizens who comprise the backbone of our organization, we boast current members on the Wildlife Trust Fund Board; the Governor's Brucellosis Task Force, Wyoming Game & Fish Commission, representatives and senators at the Wyoming Legislature and in Congress. We have several members who also represent other sports organizations. Coming from all walks of life, we have discovered that by uniting together in our common pursuit of preserving our heritage for future generations, we have forged the ability to positively impact our world around us.
Wyoming SFW joined forces with the Wolf Coalition in their lawsuit against the federal government in the process fo force the delisting of the wolf and actively lobbied the Wyoming legislature in 2007, which finally resulted in the delisting of the wolf in March, 2008.
When several anti-hunting, pro wolf groups filed suit against the delisting of the gray wolf on April 28, 2008, Wyoming SFW was again on the forefront. We joined in with such groups as the USFWS, SCI, NRA, the State of MT and MT Park & Wildlife, the State of ID and ID F&G, ID F&G Commission, ID Office of Species Conservation, the State of WY, MT Stockgrowers Assoc., MT Farm Bureau, Western MT F&G Assoc., MT Shooting Sports Assoc., Friends of the Northern Yellowstone Elk Herd, and the WY Stockgrowers Assoc. Since litigation was expected, this move by this very liberal judge has not taken anyone by surprise and you can bet we will again be actively involved on the forefront and continue our behind the scenes efforts in the battle to see the gray wolf delisted.
Regarding a number of issues, we repeatedly make known our concerns to the United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS); actively lobby politicians at the local, state and national levels; and make every effort to educate the "non hunting" public of our heritage and of the benefits that are derived from all outdoors sports - especially hunting and fishing.
